A person married to a Zambian for five years is entitled to apply to be registered.
A child of a Zambian citizen parent is a citizen under the Constitution and Citizenship Act. Registration and bestowal routes also cover some diaspora cases.
Adults may apply for registration after about ten years continuous ordinary residence in Zambia, or five years in some descent, birth-in-Zambia, or marriage categories. Dual citizenship is generally allowed. Grant follows Citizenship Board process.
