Citizenship at birth through a Saudi father
Nationality flows from a Saudi father; mere birth on Saudi soil confers no automatic citizenship.

A child of a Saudi father is Saudi automatically at birth regardless of birthplace. Children of a Saudi mother and a non-Saudi father are not automatic and may apply after age 18.
Ordinary naturalization generally requires about ten years of legal residence plus Arabic proficiency, good conduct, and means of support, and is highly discretionary and rare. A 2021 royal decree separately allows citizenship for exceptional global talent by approval.
