Citizenship at birth through parentage or foundling status
A person is Egyptian at birth when born to an Egyptian father or mother. A person born in Egypt of unknown parents, including a foundling presumed born in Egypt, is also Egyptian. Birth in Egypt alone to identified foreign parents is not general jus soli.
